​Speaker of Parliament Matti Vanhanen will meet United States Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell and Republican Senators John Barrasso, Susan Collins and John Cornyn in Parliament on Monday, 16 May 2022. Vice Speaker Antti Rinne and the chairs of parliamentary groups will also attend the lunch meeting.

Among other things, Russian invasion of Ukraine, its wider security implications and Finland's decision to apply for NATO membership will be discussed at the meeting.

The visit of the Senators in Finland is hosted by U.S. Ambassador to Finland Douglas Hickey.
