​The Board of the Library of Parliament 1913–2021

The Board of the Library of Parliament consisted of five Members of Parliament, one of whom acts as chairman and one as vice-chairman, three experts outside Parliament and one person from the library's staff. (Act 717/2000 on the Library of Parliament, repealed by Act 1252/2021 on the repeal of the act on the Library of Parliament.)

The duties of the Board of the Library were to deal with the key issues related to the operations and development of the library, as well as to provide an annual report on the operations of the library to Parliament. The library’s report was discussed at the plenary session of Parliament in a parliamentary debate, after which it was sent to the Education and Culture Committee for report submission. In addition, the Library Board handled the library’s budget proposal, gave its assessments for the filling of the library’s key positions and the post of Director, and dealt with matters relevant to the service activities of the library.
